Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

This year’s festivities were low key but fun. Myself along with a number of my friends spent the evening at a friend’s house for a potluck dinner. We had roast beef, roast ham, roasted potatoes and veggies, salad, etc.  I made stuffed fried wontons.
The following might sound weird, but it was delicious:
What you need:
-cream cheese
-chopped green onions
-imitation crab meat, chopped finely
-salt and pepper to taste
-wonton wrappers
Mix the first four ingredients together.  the main ingredient is the cream cheese, so the other ingredients (the imitation crab and the green onions) are just a compliment.  After the mixture is prepared, you put a small amount into the centre of a wonton.  Dip your finger in a bowl of water and apply it to 2 of four corners of the wonton (two touching corners).  Fold the non-wet side of the wonton over to the wet corner of the wonton to create a triangle.  Press the corners down and push out any air pockets.  Deep fry on low heat in a fry pan that has been preheated with vegetable oil.  It only takes a very short time for the wonton to brown.  Flip the wonton over so it can cook on the other side.  When it is done, remove it from the oil and place it on a plate lined with paper towel to drain some of the excess oil.  Serve with plum sauce.  It’s delicious!
Anyhow, the night consisted of playing a board game, playing Wii, chatting, eating, and catching up.  We had a great time and dinner was wonderful.  I love the easy moments like this.  Here are just a few of the pictures from Saturday night.  I hope you all enjoyed your NYE as well!
